The Vedas and the Scholar - an Incredible CA
What is
the connection between corporate finance and the Vedas? And if
asked ‘what have you done for the first time in the world?’ If
you see none, wait till you meet K Suresh. He is not most of us.
He is a multi-faceted, mutli-scholastic, pukka Tam Brah with a
very sharp brain that can swallow numbers like a gargantula. He
is the Company Secretary & Compliance Officer with Sobha
Developers, Bangalore.
“My dream in life is to
popularise the Vedas among people and restore the revered
position that it once held as the source of all human
knowledge,” says this Veda enthusiast.
Needless to say, his chosen
professional field is Chartered Accountancy, after B.Com, and
M.Com. But Suresh didn’t stop at that. He pursued CWA, CS, and
Post Graduate Diploma in Foreign Trade Management, Diploma in
Hindu Astrology…with even a stint in INSEAD (The European
Institute of Business Administration) Fontainebleau, France and
one of very few people who knows US GAAP & SEC requirements
during 1998 in India. Perfect fields for a numbers aficionado,
isn’t it? You know, he is a Gold-medalist in M.Com and All India
Rank Holder in CA, CWA and CS.
Suited, booted and well-groomed as
a corporate identity, his vibhuthi adorned forehead will
certainly belie his extensive travel all over the world,
including as far as Singapore. Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand,
China, Hongking, London, Portugal, Germany, USA, Dubai & Muscat.
Opportunities to learn new things
came in rather strange ways for Suresh. Sheltering himself from
the rain one day in Chennai, he found himself in a typical
patashala where Brahmin boys were loudly reciting the Vedas. The
rhythm, beat and the count that formed the tune fascinated him.
He immediately took steps to learn the Vedas from 1998. Though
he didn’t know Sanskrit then and had no basic knowledge in the
Vedas, with his sharp memory and grasping power, Suresh
surprised his teachers by making fast progress.
Having gone into it deeply, he has
acquired today such vast knowledge and can recite almost all
important Vedas! And if that is not remarkable enough, he can
recite them in several different ways with clarity and
perfection! It seems like it’s as easy as ‘twinkle twinkle
little star’ is for us! He has received accolades for his
excellent recital from Sri Sringeri Sankaracharya, himself a
notable Vedic scholar.
And what was that he did
for the first time in the world? He
has been at the forefront of efforts to make Ghana Paatha of Rig
Veda and Krishna Yajur Veda available in the book form for the
first time in the world. (in Devanagari and Phonetic Tamil
script)
The book is a fully phonetic in
nature, making it easier to understand and recite correctly.
Clearly indicating swara and sandhi to be able to recite with
the prefect pronunciation and tune. So far, he brought out about
12 Books and 4 audio albums on Veda Ghana Patha. He has even
analyzed the Vedas from its origins to the different saints
mentioned as contributors to the Vedas. And this is an
achievement from a man who had no prior Sanskrit knowledge
(which he incidentally, learnt in a few weeks!) This was even
facilitated by both Sri Kanchi and Sringeri Sankaracharyas. This
book has been prepared after Suresh thoroughly learned the Vedas
from beginning to end to be able to have better authority on the
subject.
“As I became familiar with the
Vedas, I began to feel the need to bring it closer to the common
man. This led me to develop a novel way of reciting Vedas called
‘Suresha Paddhathi’, a title awarded by none other than
Jagadguru Sri Sankaracharyas of Kanchi and Sringeri Peetam,”
he says.
‘Suresha Paddathi’
is a new method of reciting Ghana from more than one Veda
simultaneously to highlight the differences of tone and words,
similar to Jugalbandhi in music, which is mind-boggling. At
present Suresh is learning three Vedas simultaneously, a feat in
itself considering that, it sometimes takes one more than 20
years to learn Ghana Paatha in one Veda alone. Suresh could very
well go down in Sanskrit history as the first person to
accomplish such a feat!
Suresh says while explaining the
power of the Vedic mantras, “The uniqueness of the Vedas lies
in the fact that it does not have any language but just sound.
Sanskrit is only one way of interpreting the Vedas. The
vibrations that are generated during the recitation of Vedic
mantras are so powerful that if rightly recited, they can cause
great benefits to those who recite as well as to the listeners,”
Suresh even has his own website on
astrology, yet another subject that he has mastered. If you want
your weekly predictions, well, you won’t find it there. But if
you want a perfect horoscope drawn
for you, or want to an instant match,
www.ghanapati.com is the place for you. Suresh has found a
sure-fire calculation that offers 100% compatibility details
with about 1296 combinations. You’ll also find most interesting
articles by him on diverse subjects including ‘Beyond Y2K’ and
‘’Veda, Mathematics in Jothisha and Time’’.
Why this rare interest in Vedas
and how come he has acquires such supreme abilities ? He
believes that he has been specially chosen by the divine
entities to be instrumental in renewing the lost Vedic values in
life among people. He wants to propagate the ancient chants and
hymns into the life of today’s youth. He is sure that this vast
knowledge (which according to him need not be a detailed and
technical study, but a reasonably clear understanding), will
result in influencing a positive life.
It has to be seen to believe the
way he can work out complex formulae or calculations in a most
simple manner. His skill for numbers is indeed a rare gift. He
has contributed articles on various subjects in CA Magazine,
Astrological Magazine and in our KSCA also.
A finance
professional, mathematical scholar, an astrology wizard, and an
authority on the Vedas… a man who probably understands ‘time’
better than most of us, a man who believes that the whole
universe is just sound waves… this interesting personality at
Sobha Developers associated with various premier Institutes is
indeed gifted.
